Description

Since America’s founding days, women have been stepping forward to serve this country. From uncommon soldiers who disguised themselves to fight and nurses that faced horrific wounds and to those who proudly wear the uniform today, women have always contributed to our military might. This is their story.

Rationale

Women have always been contributors to the US military and this source provides an opportunity for students to see first hand how women have impacted the armed forces. The videos and documentary provide an inside look for students in the various wars through out history. As the students progress thorugh the resources, they will be able to witness how much that role has increased since the founding of the United States.

 

These sources will engage and appeal to any student. There is opportunity for discussion, critical thinking, and even interactive activities where students can become engrossed in history.
